Softball Divisions

The ASA program provides flexible rules and incremental levels of competitive play, which are specifically designed for the physical development and safety requirements of each age group. This page describes our divisions and helps you find the most appropriate division for your child. If you have further questions after reading through this, please contact the appropriate Division Director.

Determining Softball League Age

The age cut-off date for softball is December 31 for all divisions except Starz.  The age cut-off for Starz is April 30.

A player's League Age is her chronological age on December 31. For example, if a player turns 10 on December 15, she would be considered league age 10, since she is 10 on December 31. If she turns 10 on January 15, she would be considered league age 9, since she is 9 on December 31.
