Refund Policy

Stateline Youth Athletics is a non-profit organization that has always taken great care to produce a high quality youth baseball and softball program at an affordable cost to our families.  Considerable time and effort goes into the planning and execution of the SYA Baseball and Softball season. This process begins in January of each year, over three months before a single practice takes place for any teams. Included in the process is budgeting for equipment, fields, umpires, uniforms, and administrative costs. Because of the hundreds of kids playing baseball and softball in the Stateline area, and thus the need to provide our vendors with our requirements for the upcoming season well in advance, many of these costs must not only be budgeted, but also expended long before the season begins.

It is because of our considerable care in providing the best program for the best cost that we maintain a refund policy. Our planning and expenditure system is based on the fact that once skills assessments have been conducted for your child's division (ages 9-16) or your child is placed on a team (ages 4-8), we consider it a commitment on your part that your child will stay in the program for the entire season. We purchase equipment and uniforms based on our registration numbers in late March. If you withdraw after late March, it forces us to absorb the costs that we have already incurred for your child to participate in our league.

Regular Season

Based on these requirements, we set a date each year after which we are not able to provide a refund.  For the 2008 season, that date is

  • March 16 for ages 9-16
  • April 13 for ages 4-8

Please notify the Registrar via email of your cancellation by those dates.  We realize that there are sometimes extenuating circumstances, and we'll be happy to discuss those with you should you feel that you fall into that category. Otherwise, we hope that you'll understand and respect our policy.
